From raw materials and in order to obtain the final product, the following operations must take place:

- Remove the clay material (washing),

- Reduce the particle-size(grinding and crushing)

- Sort products according to particle-size distribution (screening) and stock near the facility.

Manufacturing

Primary crusher

Primary crusher

Its first function is to separate the raw material into particle sizes of less than 200 mm (considered dirty, slightly polluted by clay) and particle sizes larger than 200 mm (about 50% of the raw material).

Its second function is to carry out a first crushing to reduce the material to blocks of 0-400 mm (jaw crusher).

The capacity of the primary crusher is 2000 tons/hour.

Washing

This facility washes the 0-200 mm material in clear water in two large rotating cylinders (L = 10 m ; D = 3.6 m) in order to recover :

- a fraction 0-200 mm, free of clay, which is then ground and sorted in several steps.

- a filtrate from which the water, the silt and a sand called “lavé” (whose characteristics are valued) are separated.

Washing

Secondary crusher

Secondary crusher

The sole function is to reduce the particle-size distribution of the preground product (primary output) from 400 mm to 130 mm (in two stages), then to route the products according to their quality:

- either to a third step for chemical processing,
- or to a third step for physical processing.

Third step physical processing

Designed recently (2004), this facility allows for the production and direct shipment to construction and public work customers of any combination of finished product made from 12 core products produced and stocked in 1000 ton silos.

Its capacity is 800 tons per hour. The loading is automatic over three lines (about 5 mn) and the variety of possible products is unlimited up to a maximum size of 90 mm.

Third step physical processing

Third step chemical processing

Third step chemical processing

This sorting and particle size reduction facility (800 tons per hour) is used to produce limestone, chemically selected gravel and flux stone (sand for metallurgy) and permits loading from a hopper.
