Originally a marble quarry, the company Marbres du Boulonnais became Carrières du Boulonnais in 1974.

The quarry, located in Ferques, currently extracts and markets 6 million tons of limestone aggregate per year.

In 1995, it increased its capacity of 800,000 tons of product per year by acquiring the company CBS (Carrières du Bassin de la Sambre), which is located in Avesnois and operates in the same market.

In 2000, a partnership agreement was signed with the company Gagneraud to convert and market crystallized blast furnace slag for the public works market under the Valsid brand.

In order to better respond to the needs of its clients, Carrières du Boulonnais stregnthened its operation by creating a business platform in Mitry-Mory (Paris) and Beauvais.

Today, Carrières du Boulonnais, with 230 associates, converts and markets 8 million tons of product in the North of France and exports to industrial clients (Great Britain and nordic countries), generating turnover of 75 million euros in 2005.

Well established in its markets, having substantial reserves and current operating permits, Carrières du Boulonnais is a recognized major player with regard to industrial and public works or infrastructures.
